Q: What is the difference between a RAW scan and a Cleaned Scan
A: A Raw scan is exported straight from AGI without any Zbrush clean-up work. Whilst all the RAW scans in our expression sets are aligned, scaled and stabilised correctly they do still have some scanning artefacts particularly around the ears and under the nose as illustrated in the images below. Cleaned scan has been professional cleaned in Zbrush to remove any artefacts and noise. Cleaned scans are supplied in both ZTL and OBJ format the former of which comes with 6 SubD levels the lowest of which is 5k the highest about 4 million polygons. Cleaned scans also have an extra layer of geometric detail extracted from the colour map and applied as a displacement in Zbrush as you can see from the close up shots below.
